Technical Co-ordinator

Cornish Sea Salt looking for a dedicated and motivated Part-Time Technical Co-ordinator to join our team. This temporary position offers 32 hours per week, with flexibility across four days, with the potential to become permanent.

Responsibilities:

·       Support in preparation for and during internal and external audits, ensuring all required documents are readily available and compliant.

·       Help maintain BRCGS accreditation, working closely with the Technical lead on:

·       Supplier approval and ongoing monitoring

·       Documentation Management: Maintain, update, and organise all technical documentation related to food manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

·       Handling customer complaints – including monitoring of complaints to identify issues and trends and reporting of serious complaints

·       Record Keeping: Manage and keep accurate records of quality control reports, production data, and any other relevant documentation.

·       Monitor emerging risks and trends relating to food fraud and supply chain vulnerabilities

·       Conduct quality, hygiene and fabrication audits

·       Conduct internal audits, raise non-conformances and determine corrective actions

·       Inter-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and management, to ensure smooth information flow and timely documentation updates.

·       Continual Improvement Process: Identify areas for process improvement related to documentation, record-keeping, and administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate shall have proven experience of working in a Quality Assurance environment and ideally be educated to degree level in Food Science or have relevant experience. In addition, HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are essential along with being PC literate and an excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbally.
  • Knowledge and understanding of BRCGS – ideally you will have worked at a BRCGS accredited site and be familiar with meeting the standard.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling technical information.
  • Strong time-management skills to handle multiple requests efficiently and accurately
  • Proficient in Microsoft systems (including Excel) and ideally some experience with online retailer specification systems
