Cornwall’s unique Grade A waters

National Marine Week is The Wildlife Trusts’ nationwide celebration of all things marine. Did you know? Water quality is graded on shellfish and whether it can be eaten fresh from the sea. We are the only British Sea Salt company using grade A pure sea, giving Cornish Sea Salt its unique taste and high mineral content.

Cornish Sea Salt is sourced from Grade A Atlantic waters, eight metres from the shoreline on the Lizard Peninsula and hand harvested in our eco-friendly salt house.

Cornish Sea Salt eco-friendly salt house

Speaking with our Production Manager at our Pol Gwarra Salt House, Tim Van Horn, he said; “We have seen all sorts of wildlife on this coastline. It’s alive with a plethora of mammals and animals.

We have peregrines and buzzards down at the site regularly. We have also seen plenty of Seals, Dolphins and even various spotting’s of basking sharks which is always exciting. Tuna have also been spotted in the bay.”

Beneath Cornwall’s beauty is a totally unique geographical environment which defines the taste and high mineral content of Cornish Sea Salt.

In our commitment to being eco-conscious and protecting the area of outstanding natural beauty, we return our water back into the sea at the correct saline level.

We’re also in good company, as just around the corner from our eco-friendly salt house is Porthkerris Diving School which has beautifully clear waters and one of the best shore dives in the UK.

To celebrate National Marine Week, we’ve teamed up with St Eval Candle Company who are giving away a sea-inspired coastal bundle. Keep an eye on their social media to enter...
