We are currently seeking to fill the position of a Technical Administrator. This role requires 32 hours per week, core hours with flexible start and finish times.

Job description:

  • Responding to customer requests in an accurate and professional manner, from answering individual customer queries to completing technical information for larger food manufacturing and retail clients
  • Specification management – manage internal and customer facing product specifications, including generating new specifications and updating existing specifications as required.
  • Documentation management: Maintain, update, and organise all technical documentation related to food manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Handling customer complaints – including monitoring of complaints to identify issues and trends
  • Record keeping: Manage and keep accurate records of quality control reports, production data, and any other relevant documentation.
  • Assistance in audits: Support in preparation for and during internal and external audits, ensuring all required documents are readily available and compliant.
  • Interdepartmental collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and management, to ensure smooth information flow and timely documentation updates.
  • Continual improvement process: Identify areas for process improvement related to documentation, record-keeping, and administrative tasks.

  • Excellent organisational and documentation management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling technical information.
  • Strong time-management skills to handle multiple requests efficiently and accurately
  • Proficient in Microsoft systems (including Excel) and ideally some experience with online retailer specification systems
  • Proven experience in administrative roles within the food manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and regulations, knowledge of BRCGS would be beneficial
  • Knowledge / background in FMCG
  • Ability to work autonomously for part of the week

Preferred experience required:

  • Customer service: 1+ year
  • Administrative experience: 1+ year
  • Background in FMCG: 2+ years

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
